Well I have a new addition to the stable. I picked up this gold 72 last night. It has been sitting outside since 2003 and unfortunately water got into it and the interior is toast, I don't quite know yet where the water comes in but that is one of the first things on my list to fix. It is a complete car including A/C, 350 2bbl and THM350, basically a California sister to my Baltimore car.
My 10 year old son encouraged me to buy it, I probably paid a little more than I should have but the body is solid, with the exception of rear window rot and a trunk pan, because it was an Arizona car until 1998. The trunk rusted out because a bag of fertilizer was left in it.
This will be my son's car one day on the condition that we have a father - son project and he learns about it and is very involved in the restoration. He wants to enter and win car show Young Buck competitions. He wants to be like his dad and own a 72, now he has the chance. Since I became a father to spend this time with him is one of the greatest joys I have been looking forward to.
Now my 5 year old daughter is pestering me for an El Camino and my wife wants a convertible, I need a bigger garage.
Here are some pictures he snapped last night.
