after all these years , i just learned how to remove a front seat belt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how many of you know how to remove the front retractable seat belts?
i thought i knew everything, but i just figured out that you can undo the seat belt roller unit from the base making it possible to use a socket on the bolt instead of a flat wrench. there is a little clip mechanism in the front, and a little spring loaded catch holding the hole thing to the base. i cant tell you how many of these i have struggled with. wow

Pretty cool huh Pete !

You're about 15 years behind me on that one, but I'm sure there's lots of other stuff that you know, that I don't !

If I don't learn something new every day, then it wasn't a good day ! ;)

I learned that by accident with one that was already in need of replacement I thought because it wasn't working right

found the clip was broke and the seat belt roller would not retract right

so I decided to just take the whole thing out and work on it on the bench
then when I went to reinstall it - I realized that it would be better off reinstalling it apart

Whats the best way to remove sill plates?
i have not figured that one out yet. it seems like these little screws keep holding it down. if you take one out, it seems like there is just another one keeping it down.

a small pointed object to clean the heads out
then an impact driver with a small bit in it to break those rusted screws loose
then wd-40 the little buggers
then back 'em out a lttle and in a little then out a little more then in a little etc.
