Greetings guys, I am installing 3870R-1 shocks in my 70 Chevelle, and have a couple questions....
I have tailpipes on my car so the top adjustment knob has to be closer to the tire(outside of shock body). It doesn't have much room and the knob will hit frame if I rotate shock. Can I run a spacer between shocks and upper mount? No more than 1/2"? I don't think the knob will last in current location.......
Second question, is, depending on the first, but can I modify lower mounting point on axle to make the shocks more vertical? This might give the top more clearance but once again exhaust is going to be a issue.... I actually got coil overs but they won't fit with the 3"tailpipes.
Thanks for your help,
Kirk
