i need help on this one. i need to move my bbc motor forward about 1/2 inch. it has solid motor mounts. do they make offset solid mounts. any ideas.this is for my 55. i cant get the valve covers off where its at. and the 671 blower also makes it hard to get the covers off. i have to run the tall covers because of roller rockers. maby there is a set of lower valve covers that will still fit roller rockers, i dont know. ill try anything. (( p.s. imakehp you got mail)).

Doesn't your car have frame brackets that the motor mounts bolt to like Chevelles have? Maybe you can remove the brackets, and drill new mounting holes in them so that the brackets themselves can be mounted slightly forward. I've never tried that, but this is my first thought after reading your post.

I have the "mid-sized" valve covers from Ground up. They are for running Roller rockers but still trying to pull off the stock look. I run them with Harland rockers and really like them. They are stamped steel and chromed.

Take your solid ENGINE mounts, (not the frame mounts), cut the rear tab off and add a 1/2" wide plate and re-weld back together to move your engine a 1/2" forward.

Remember to put the plate in the rear 1/2/position regarding engine bolt-hole spacing here!!!!!!!if you need to come forward!

Like this..
...................To the front >>>

......l.l.......l..... to this..
........l
......_l_l_____
......l.l..l.........l.....
........l..l...

Then if you feel uneasy about the wider bolt gap, then shim it tight w/ washers or lock-washers.

Sucker will move up front the needed 1/2" and you are good to go..
