How much pressure should an AC compressor have when you put your thumb over the rear inlet hole and turn the clutch? Mine just barely makes a pop when i pull my thumb off.

Please clearify your question...

Are you saying you are doing this out of the car and on a bench turning it by hand???

If so yes, you won't have much discharge or suction pressure... Refrigerant oil creates a seal in the AC compressor as it rotates...
If you think the compressor is bad then get a rebuild or re-manufactured compressor... It will save you time and trouble in the long-run...

Hope this help...
