A very dear friend of mine lost almost everything, including half of his Air Force retirement, in an ugly divorce. He got to keep this because the ex didn't want the "old car"!
He is the second owner and it has sat for about 2yrs (outside). Its getting kind of rough, smells very moldy inside, but it is all there! Unmolested, never wrecked. I told him last year if he could get it to me, I'd get it running for him (it's in a little rougher shape than what I realized). About all that is missing is the original iron intake and dist. He still had the original Q-jet which I plan to send to Eric for repair.
I'm not restoring the car, I'm just going to get it running (assuming nothing major is broken) on my nickel.
The owner used to be a flight engineer on the E-4 and we became super good buddies when I was working on the program. Sometimes you just gotta help out a buddy with no strings attached.

Tom, I did a similar thing last year for a young man who bought a car with a knocking engine and he and some friends proceeded to tear to apart and BOY did they tear it apart. My brother in law and myself reassembled the engine/tranny and some other work, He just had to pay for parts.

Cool car but what's with the round parking lights?
Anyone remember when it was "the thing" to do, to swap a Monte/Elky front bumper on a 70 Chevelle? That's what he did many years ago.
No big deal to change it back.

Right on. Hey I used to be stationed at Andrews AFB. The E-4B would always fly in and visit for a few days. I could always remember that they would have 1 engine running all the time on the ground. I got a tour of it a few times. Pretty cool!
