this includes 64-67 also.All 68-72 Chevelles are A bodies.
According to anyone who owns one, it is. Seems like every doof who has an Olds 350 automatically promotes it to "Rocket" status. Heck, every Olds has a rocket emblem on it, so they're all rocket something or another. By that logic, I have a Bowite 350....this kind of reminds me of people with an Olds 350 asking if it's a "Rocket" 350..
I`m pretty sure those are "G" body`s in 78-80 as well. Not really up on those .i believe even the last Malibus from 78-80 were also called "A" bodies. then, from 81 and on, they all went by the Monte Carlo body style designation of "G" body.. the last "A" bodied cars were the mighty Citation and all it's corporate cousins. but don't feel too bad about that- a Citation X11 was faster than a Camaro, and close to a Corvette..

hmm.. my bad.. but what was the "A" body in the 80's?
or did they just drop that all together? i am sure, however, that the Citation replaced the Malibu- if you look at them from the front, they even kind of look alike.
but i'm pretty sure the 78-81 Malibu, Regal, Cutlass, and LeMans were all "A" bodies, they when they got redone and stretched out a bit, they all became "G"bodies like the Grand Prix and Monte Carlo if they weren't dropped altogether like the Malibu and LeMans.
That is correct. Currently own a 1980 Malibu coupe along with my 66SS. Most of the 78+ fans refer the 78 and newer cars as the G body anyways as to not confuse. But some of the books and manuals still reference the 78-81s as the A body.but i'm pretty sure the 78-81 Malibu, Regal, Cutlass, and LeMans were all "A" bodies, they when they got redone and stretched out a bit, they all became "G"bodies like the Grand Prix and Monte Carlo if they weren't dropped altogether like the Malibu and LeMans.
Sad but trueKeep it. Sell it on ebay in 20 years as a Vintage A-body Chev for $3500. Then use the money to buy a $800,000 heap of a Chevelle.
