Been away for along time. Few days ago got a call from BC, Canada. Current owner of my '69 (actually the 3rd owner since I sold it right around this time 9 years ago), searched me out and wanted some info on the car. In pics looks the same. Lot has changed in past few years with the tracks that were open around here. Looking around this site, I see some of the same names from years back. Ironically, looks like similar discussions. Good to see there's still interest.

Yes, things on the site has changed, but information is still basically the same. Vince (69-CHVL) is still active and helping others just like he used to. My car has been mostly behaving, finally...

Feeling better? Are you ready to get back into the game?

Health has been excellent for years now. As for getting back into car hobby, probably not. Other interests now.
My son showed some interest in buying back my old car, financially, it's won't be a good purchase, he's more into modern cars anyway with all the bells and whistles.

Hey I STILL HAVE some HVAC insulation you gave me! Glad to hear you are doing well Joe. Was hoping to catch you next year at Cecil/MCC show! I finally got a little seat time in, and havent hit the new engine's potential yet.

Last time I ran the 1/4 mile was 2001. I had a 67 Chevelle conv with an LS1, 4L60e and an open 10 bolt.
My right rear tire went up in smoke and I got beat (pretty badly) by a lady in an Astro Van that had 3 kiddie car seats in it. My friends (and I use that term loosely) laughed at me for years.
I’m afraid to go back because I’ll probably get paired up to a school bus or motor home and loose again. My ego can only take so much.

Modern paints are very forgiving. Get yourself a decent HVLP, set up a make shift paint booth and go at it. Unless you're doing some exotic paint color (ie. heavy metal flake), hard to mess up.
