We're working on my brothers truck (frame off and front clip switch after an accident)

The only thing we like is getting the turn signals working.

When the lights are pulled on it kills the gauge lights (which are also dim) and both turn signal indicators come on but burn steady.

If anyone can help we'd appreciate it so we can get this thing to the exhaust shop and be done with it.

All the lights work with the emergency flashers? If so swap the flasher cans. See if that fixes half the problem.

No, the dash lights work if you just pull them on, but when you pull it to make the headlights come on the dash lights die and the turn signal arrows glow steady

I meant when operating the emergency flashers, with the headlight switch off, do all outside bulbs flash ok?
Did you put the chassis ground back on? The wire from battery (-) to the right inside fender?

Yeah, the chassis ground is on

Last time I checked the signals were working as long as the lights are off

Remove the front right and left outside turn signal bulbs.
Pull the headlight switch on again.
Does the green inside turn signal indicators stay off?
