Posting for someone who may be interested. Triple black sure is cool on this 73 and really caught my eye, price doesn't seem to out of line either considering the upgrades. May not be a popular year but still is a beauty

It looks like they recessed the front bumper inward some. It's not protruding out like it normally would -thank goodness. However, while doing that, you can tell the front part of bumper is pointing upwards and from the side of the bumper, below marker light, is pointing downwards. I like the overall color and look of the car. I still prefer the 73 Laguna over any Chevelle that came after it.

2x...after 72 I just gave up on the GM A-Body. What were they thinking?

The rest of the 1970's (from '73 on) were a disaster. Having said that if I had to have a post 72 car that thing looks very nice as it is.
GM had nothing to do with it. The Fed is who was to blame. Many people don't realize that these cars had a Roll Bar built into the roof as GM was anticipating rollover requirements that were threatened by the Fed, but were never realized. Same with the bumpers. I like my 73. To each his own.

I think they look pretty good, just in my opinion the 70 was a tough act to follow ...I certainly didn't mean to insult anyone....mine is a 72 which many don't like either....I do. You learn something new every day on here. Never heard about roll bar before.
:beers:

That is why the convertibles went away. Rollover standards. Without putting in a roll bar they couldn't meet the new standards for roll over. In later years some successfully stiffened the windshield posts to prevent crushing in a roll over.

Put on a Laguna nose and murder it out black. She'd be perfect.

Even without that though it looks pretty dang good, I'd say nail it for $15k if you can.

The stylist's that designed the cars knew in 71 that by 1973 they had to fit those massive 5 mph front bumpers that the DOT mandated. In 1974 they had to add the rear bumper too.ALL the mid 70's cars from ALL the car makers looked like crap so try to forgive the General if you can.By the early 80's the standards were relaxed down to 2 1/2 mph.
I really like this car the interior is awesome if he could have included a Laguna S3 nose he would have nailed it.

Tell you what, I had a 76 Elky. 400 SB, cold air, Cortez Siver, vinyl roof that I sold last year. I loved it, but I needed the cash to fund other things. At 37,000 on the clock, ir rode well, had good power, and shredded those rear tires whenever you needed. There are buyers out there, and not just those one legged guys holding "will work for beer" signs at the intersections. I love my cars, but that Elky was cool. $6500 cool

I agree it is a bit pricey for a post 72 car. As far as the styling, if you like then all is good. I've seen better and a lot worse in the 64-72 crowd.
