What are guys doing with this part that holds the window felt etc that is on the original quarter panel I am cutting off along with the rain gutter? Are people grinding these off and spot welding them to the new quarter? Does the new panel simply slip behind the old rain gutter. Be gentle first time newbie on quarter panels replacements here. This is on a 72.

Do not remove the rain gutter, inner panel. You have to clean all the sealer out and drill out the spot welds.

Thank you. So the quarter pane spot welds are right behind that drip rail? And that inner piece is spot welded from inside the quarter panel? Trying to figure out where to attempt to cut the spot welds from the quarter right there.

Clean all the seam sealer out of the gutter and you will see them.
