When I turn on my headlights the front marker lights go out. Turn signals work, rear markers work fine. I can't remember if this is supposed to happen. My 67 Impala did this but it was made to do that. I think the 72 marker lights are supposed to stay on. Could I have the wrong year light switch?

Yes, they are supposed to stay on. Most likely a ground problem. Did you just replace the light switch?

if you mean the front SIDE marker lamps, those only work with the turn signals. but front parking lights are on in the park position on the headlight switch.
