How many metal brackets are there for a 72 chevelle that hold the headliner in i have 2 in front one on each side and one for the back is that all of them and if so how do i get the unbracketed corners tight.

I just removed my headliner. There are a total of 5 headliner bows or rods. They are each a little different from each other. The center one clips in plastic pieces.

Sorry i guess i didnt clarify my post the pieces im talking about are the metal pieces that screw into the edges and hold the headliner up just wondering how many pieces i should have.

Jay,
I think there are 9 pieces that hold the headliner in, two for the front windshield, one on the drivers and one on the passenger side, three pieces along the rear glass and one small piece on each sailpanel. I think you should ask around or place a wanted ad on this site to see if you can get a full set.

Thanks mike72ss ive searched around and found someone who is crushing their 72 because it is too far gone so hes going to remove the brackets and sell them to me. Another question what is a reasonable price for a used set of these anyone know.

Jay, I wouldn't think I would pay more than $30-$40 bucks for a set. Remember, they came in just about any Chevelle from 68-72 and probably a few other A body cousins like Skylarks and Cutlass'
