Disconnect the line from the tank and fuel pump and see if you can blow air through it with a air gun. Sounds like there is some crap stuck in the line somewhere.

changed fuel pump with factory style , new fuel line to carb, blew out line from tank , new tank, new sending unit, still little fuel in filter just little sqiurts now and then , started adjusting front float and when fuel started coming out of carb vent filter started getting lots of fuel in it turned float back down to stop over flow fuel stopped coming in to filter. also checked the rod that runs the fuel pump arm for wear and mushrooming and it's fine could the cam ecentric be bad without ruining the rod?any help would be great because I'm a ford guy and this driving me nuts thanks

Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge? I used to have a camaro that would show little fuel in the filter, it ran fine. The problem could be elsewhere. Trouble the car from scratch, including ignition, grounds, etc. Assume any component is bad, until proven otherwise.
