So,
I've recently purchased a 1972 SS clone with a 350. Since it is a clone I don't really care what I do to it because I'm not wrecking any numbers matching...anything. A 496 BB is being built for it as we speak and I've got some questions about what I should do for the front suspension. I've already talked with Mark at SC&C (a wealth of knowledge btw) and have the key rear-end parts in the mail, but I'm just too broke right now after this engine to go crazy on the front. Eventually the car will be modeled after a Pro-Touring project. It will have a TCI StreetFighter 700R4, 18" wheels, and some sort of upgraded fuel system (still deciding on this) by the spring.
From what I've read I'm pretty sure I want 550-580 lb front springs. Do I go with stock height or 1" lowered like Hotchkis? I want a Pro-Touring stance but I don't want to only see half of my wheels. What shocks should I get?
I've also decided to go with The Right Stuff Big Brake kit for stock spindles. If I'm not going to upgrade to AFX spindles, should I care about purchasing tubular front A-arms?
Thank you in advance.
