so far i now that a 71 ss dash will match up 70 chevelle malibu but the rpm gauge and the amp gauge will not work i need to know what to do plus on a further note i bought an after market engine wiring harness but it has two wirers going to the distibuter one thick one and on thiner on is the thiner one for the rpm gauge please help i need to get this car together before i go insane

I beleive only the 72 engine harness has the tach wire in the wire bundle. 70/71 would have a separate brown wire running through a grommet in the firewall to the neg side of the coil. For the amp gague to work you have to add 2 wires to the dash AND engine harness or replace both harnesses for ones for tach and gauges.

i do have that sepereate brown wire at lest now ii know what thats for and what about rewiring
