I have a question. I've got a 71 Malibu 350 am am going to install a 427BB. What immediate parts will be needed and what problems can I expect to run in to. The tranny is Turbo 400. What all is to be replaced & new products purchased?

Thanks

All the brackets for a BBC(alt, ps)
fan shroud
radiator hoses
4 core radiator
exhaust manifolds/headers
front springs
You should be able to use the flywheel, Dist, starter, alt, trans, and fan off of the 350.
I would also put new motor mounts on since it is the easiest to do it now rather than later with the motor in the car.
That is all I can think of....
Good luck

Front springs. Might as well get started on that project now. I just did that job to my 71 twice (thanks to a mistake by the vendor), since you'll have the front suspension apart might as well consider the age and condition of ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, etc.

Isn't it funny how these jobs always grow?

And I almost forgot: You lucky Bastid for getting a 427.
