Hi!

I´ve always prefered the 71 grille to the 72 model.
You know, the 3-piece model where the headlight bezels are separated from the middle part.
Now, I know that the hood and the fenders and bumper and also the headlight extensions are the same on both years. So, is the grille / bezels interchangeable.

Because if they are, I´m gonna swap!

Thank you, this is good news.
After looking a lot of pictures I thought it should fit, just wasn´t sure.
Now I just need to find the parts (if some of you have some you want to sell, please let me know;))

You dont have to change the bezels. I had a 71 that was built December 23 of 71 and it came out with the 72 grille and parking lights, I guess because it was such a late build date for a 71? I liked the 71 grille and split parking lights better so i changed it back:yes:

In those years, the next year model came out in September of the year before. I always loved it because my dad worked at a Chevy dealership. When the next years models would come in they would put them in a back building with all the windows papered over and have a preview for all the employee's families. Besides getting to see the new cars, we got to eat a bunch of good food and drink all the soda we could, (remember I was a kid once.) Never forget the 65 model year, they looked futuristic compared to the years before, at least the Impala's did.

Hey 65turbowagon, like newmexguy said, you're driving a 72 with a 71 grille.
