I bought a new rear view mirror and bracket for my 71 chevelle due to the previous owner not having one at all.I am completely baffled on how to mount this dang bracket, it has holes like it would get screwed in, but into what. I assumed it would be an adhesive type of mount. I was wrong. Any ideas thanks

After looking at it further the mounting bracket either fits over or maybe behind the headliner. Does anybody have any pics they couod share and possiblely what kind of screws to mount it to the roof.

The mirror mounts on the surface of the headliner, the screws pass thru the headliner into holes in the metal behind the headliner.
Run your fingers around the area in the pics and you should find them.
I cant get at my mirror now but if I remember right it's 3 sheetmetal screws, probably #10 by 1/2" panhead

There is a boot that covers the whole mess.
You might do a search for "rear view mirror mounting" or something. Most if not all GM 1968-72 is the same
