Do the 71/72 wheels command the big money like the 69/70 wheels do? There's a guy here in town with a set in average used condition. Lets just say they need to be refinished for the sake of arguement. Wheels come with tires that have some life left. What would these be worth? He's asking 150. Could I turn a profit very easily on these wheels?

Thanks!

are you sure they are the 71-2 rims or are they later camaro wheels? later wheels sells for less money. Last set I bought, I paid $125 for the rims, 4 caps and 2 trim rings. But they were the later camaro version. If the rings and caps are included, and you can sit on them for awhile, you can probably get 250-300 if the tires are usable.
I know if I decide to sell mine (camaro wheels) , I was going to stand firm at 300 bucks. jim

Easiest way to ID '71-2 rims is the valve stem hole, should be Oval not round. Also, the spokes are more round not flat like late 70's Camaro rims. You can also check the casting date next to the valve stem, should read K 1 2 for 1972 as an example.

Good luck

Trim is a big deal with these wheels. The correct raised bowtie caps are huge money, and the correct original blue clip trim rings in good condition are another big money find. Like some of the other people have posted, the true early wheels with oval valve stem holes are worth more than the later Camaro wheels. A set of four with matched dates for an early car are worth $250-$400 bare...a set of '75-up Camaro wheels are worth $150-$250 for a set of four (bare). Blue clip trim rings in very good condition are worth $100 each. Black clip rings (GM not repops) are worth $30 used in good shape. Raised bowtie caps in good used condition (not dented or really faded) are woth $75 each. Later GM smooth bowtie caps in good used condition are worth $20 each. The NOS original rings and caps can go into the four figure territory (raised bowties and blue clips).

What /how can I tell a blue clip trim ring? Are the clips actually blue? Were the blue clip rings only used on '71-2 SS cars, and Z-28's? I don't remeber any color on the clips on mine, just curious. Never saw a raised bowtie center cap either. Any pics you can post? Sorry for the highjack.
