1- There are kits available to keep the lockup. Easy wiring job, pretty straight forward.

2-Same x-member. Has to be moved back a few inches. My elky already had holes drilled in frame for this. Bet yours does too.

3-Stock to whatever, they are available from the tranny people.

4-Don't have a clue, try contacting shiftworks (www.shiftworks.com) I think.

Others-the tranny cooling lines for a 700 are in the same place as a 350-driveshaft shortened (compare your 350 to 700 once its out)-Torque converter to flex plate bolts are METRIC!-speedo cable in same place-700 uses a Throttle Valve (TV) cable for kick down-NO floor pan mods required

Do a search of this site. There has been lots of discussion on this lately. Including what internal MODS are beneficial.

You'll like the change!

Rick's right, www.shiftworks.com has the console conversion kit for your car going from a Th350 to a 700R4.
Good Luck!

If shopping for a used 700, go for a 1987-93 version. The front pump will have a #732 as the last 3 digits, in which this IDs a 10-vane rotor. Early 700s have 7 vanes.

The 2004R is a good tranny; get one from a Grand National, Monte Carlo SS, or 305-powered Caprice 9C1s.
