I am going to a Show in Nov. My second ( Wet Cell) Delco 70 Batt. has crapped out. I am near Pitt. Pa. Anyone have a O.E.M. style Batt. that can be borrowed or rented for a weekend.

Bob, if you're bringing a 454 car, it better be a side post HD battery in there... unless you got docs that it didn't come with T60 HD BATTERY...

Bob, you can do what I do with the convertible, just use a regular battery and swap in the original type one when you get situated.

Hi Bob.
Don't forget that side and top terminal cables are different as well AND the side terminal ones for 1970 use 2 large attaching bolts.

Well I may need someone to co-sign. I just ordered a new R-79-W Gel. Batt. & cables with the correct Batt. date code. I just remembered WHY I have a top post in my 70-LS-5-- 454.
In 1973 the org. Side Post was dying, A new side post cost way to much for me, So I cut the end off the Pos. and stuck the quick fix $2.00 top post adaptor end on it and a new top post Ground cable to the Alt. Brkt.
Fast forward 25-30 years I do a frame off. OK it has a top post Batt.
when I take the El Camino apart. So I install a top post Batt. WRONG !
I think I am getting over my C R S, kant remember $#it.
NOW 43 years after the fact, I am going to get it correct.
Remember, Exercise, Eat well, run or jog, keep your weight down and the result is----------You will get an extra 10 years of life in the Old Folks Home !
