I have small-block with an Air Gap intake and a non-flapper cowl hood. Do I need a drop base air cleaner for this set-up? Any recommendations on a brand?

Im not sure on the cowl hoods but I know that I have a sbc with the rpm air gap. My filter is 5" tall and if I remember correctly my filter has a droped base of 1 1/8" and its about 2" (give or take) from my non cowl hood.

I have the K&N with the extrem lid as well.

I'll agree with Ryan...

I have a small block, RPM air gap, and a non-flapper SS hood. Currently I am running an Edebrock drop base aircleaner, and a 5"+ filter... Plenty of room
