Hi folks. I am currently trying to restore my 70 Malibu sweep dash. The dash is on my workbench. Does anyone know how to reinstall the little black rectangular screw covers that are on the warning light bezel/trim piece? I got them to fall out by just putting a small amount of pressure with a screwdriver. But how do I get them back in? Lol. Also what color should the speedo needle be. Orange I know. But what shade/paint name? Also. I have the factory assembly manual that everyone sells and this info is not in there. Would it be in a Fisher Body Manual? Thanks for any help you can offer!

The "dummy dummy" covers actually have little tabs on the back. If you busted those off, you are out of luck.

The needles were originally a fluorescent red/orange that fades after time to just plain orange. However, to make your car look "normal", I would stick with bright orange. If you went totally correct, I think some would think it looks wrong. I've worked with enough original stuff to know what it looked like.

You gotta hold your mouth just right but I got em in place. Thanks! I was thinking that's all you had to do, but thought maybe they were spring loaded and the springs flew away when I took em apart. Lol. I can over think stuff sometimes!
