I am putting a 4 spd console in my car, currently has 4 spd no console, car was originally a automatic. My question is I know I have to put in a transmission hump for the console, but what kind of shifter was used in the console and is it available to buy now. Thanks for any help

Shifter and linkage were originally Muncie for 1970. Both are reproed and available from Ground Up. The shifter for console and bench used different handles. Alot of people replaced the originals with Hurst shifters and linkage. I believe the popular one was the Competition Plus.

When you order the comp plus shifter, also get the shifting rod kit for your trans.
these rods are smaller in diamiter then the muncie but will work better.
