Ok Is the back of the 1970 chevelle rearview mirror supposed to be black? or the chrome- silver color? Originally Mine is black and another one im looking at is the chrome color

I think the '70's got the chrome mirrors. After that they went to black--Federal law if I'm not mistaken. But I'm not 100% sure.

1972 were black and 71-back were stainless steel. Whether there were any exceptions to this I don't know but everyone I ever saw was this way. (including the map light style)

I have 2 1972 chevelles, they have both had the stainless rear view mirror, not black.

All 8 of the Chevelles I have had all had the stainless steel mirror.

The two 70's I have are Stainless, both original. As I recall 70 would be stainless.
