I've exchanged emails with this person and is it me or are there alot of stories popping up recently where this is a family member selling the car for their relative that purchased that car while they were off in Vietnam?

This doesn't have a price but I thought I had seen a post a week or so ago on my phone with a crazy asking price...was right. Asking 50K for this car.

I'd say low 20's @ best if there was documentation...what do you think?

For 50 you can get a frame off LS5 with doc's so I think some one has been watching to much BJ. I think your a lot closer to the actual value than they are.

If the car is what they claim it is, then it sounds like a documented survivor with numbers matching drive train, and original paint.I see no reason why this car could not sell for 30k easily, to the right buyer if it has no frame, or other rust issues. 50k sure would be a tough sell, but all original cars are becoming popular, and harder to find.

If as described it would be a nice car, however I'm not looking to pay top dollar b/c a car is a survivor. You'd need to put immediate attention to the back window that's rusting and who knows what else is rusting on it.

Even if it were an LS5 car, I think her asking price of 50k is way out of line...the only person to even pay 30k for that car, would be someone that would keep it exactly like it is. At close to 100k miles, I'd assume the engine would be close to needing a rebuild, suspension, the plastic on the interior needs to be replaced (age turned it yellow), etc and who knows what else.

I still think, in this market it'd be tough to get into the 30's or even the high 20's on that car...maybe I'm wrong.

So Billy, is the 30K price in your neck of the woods or mine (TX)? I notice from previous posts that cars prices are very inflated in your area:cool:.

Anyone else offer any insight on this car and what you think it should be worth? Billy maybe right, but his posts on the Z16 thread have me thinking...

This thread died with the asking price of $50K. Most of us lost interest, why haven't you? Do you think the owner has a 50% margin or so in the car. If so how much chain jerkin' will it take to get there.

30k is fair. You don't find survivors like this anymore and when you do expect to pay a premium. As far as the z16 thread goes don't believe everything you read in here, even from the so called "experts". There are some honest ones and some that will say It's priced to high just so they can steal it away and flip it out from under you. Be carefull. This car looks nice and appears to be all original from this vantage point anyway. I'd like to inspect the car before putting a real value on it but I'll stick to the real world version of 30k for now. If I were stirring the pot as some suggest I would have said 55-62k.. LOL

I haven't lost interest b/c like alot of people do, they believe what they are told. I'm sure someone told the seller that this car was worth 50K, so that's where they started. I was just trying to get a realisic price and opinions if what I thought was a fair asking price, was indeed fair.

From what I've been told, the seller wants and needs this car sold for the money...it won't sell at 50K, 40K and I don't think even 30K.

If it's a survivor with good documentation and can get it for under 30k you would be fine. Anything under 30k would be a deal, especially if it's a car you want. The color combo is the best IMO. Nice car, I hope you get it for a song and enjoy every second of it..

And this was not serious? Here we go again. Deano is trying to set me up but it's not going to work. Believe what you want. I offered a honest trustworthy response and you disrespect me? I love this place. The car is not worth squat, don't buy it, run fast, but please post the add info here for everyone else. Good luck finding the car you desire.
