you'll either have to limit the lift to around 470, or machine the guides so you can swap springs. also you'll need self aligning rockers or screw in studs and guide plates installed to run gen 1 rockers. you should post more info... like gears you have/ are buying. are you planning on a stock converter, or are you thinking of buying a converter with more stall to run a bigger cam than say ....470 lift. what are your goals ?

If the 350 has flat top pistons, you'll need to watch the compression ratio...those Vortec heads have chambers in the 61-63cc range.

I wish the GM heads were 61CC chambers we have to cut alot of those heads to 61 CC for alot of 11:01 cirlce track builds so far we ones se have seen are right at 65 to 66CC's

The mexican casting are not what GM advertises as far as intake runner size as we find them at 159CC and the older non mexican castings run right at 170CC's

I've measured three pairs of 906 castings...pulled right off stock truck engine cores.
NONE measured larger than 63cc. Maybe it was because of the hardened exhaust seat in that casting.

We have used both castings the 906 castings which were the earlier ones and we have used the non mexican 062 castings and probably since 1996 we have seen probably 50 plus sets of them and non so far have been 61 or 63 CC chambers.

I wish I could find some heads that were 61 CC as it would sure save alot of extra work cutting the decks and correction cutting the intake faces!!!!!
