the chrome (or polished aluminum.. i can't tell) trim on 69 hardtop that goes along the A pillar and over the door including the escutcheon that connects them together at the top of the A pillar. driver and passenger side.

I'm selling the roof from my parts car but someone expressed interest in these moldings and I'm not sure what they're worth or if this guy's offer is reasonable.

Any thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Thanks.

Patience , a paint stirrer works gently pushing from the bottom. It takes quite a bit of time to carefully remove them but I have taken many many sets off with No damage. They are worth 200.00 as is and 300.00 up polished !!!!

I typically start at the bottom of the a-pillar, just pry the lip up carefully until it's barely up and then, with even pressure across your wood, run the wood upward. Repear a couple times with more pressure and it'll pop right off. Same process with the hockey stick, just start at the rear and work towards the radius, repeat from the front to the radius. Not difficult. I've seen many damaged with the bottle opener or any type of hammering/tapping from the inside, outward on any given spot. The key is to keep your pressure moving, never in a static point.....make sense??

FWIW it's the trim pictured below along the A pillar and over the door and quarter glass.

Joe, I think everyone is missing what you are talking about. You mean the peice of chrome that holds the roofrail weatherstrip starting from the door and ending at the the bottom of the quarter wildow on the C pillar.

PPain in the butt because you have to dig the roofrail strip out forst to get to the 11 per side little phillips head screws that hold it in. Once you remove the screws just gently pry it off with a putty knife. It has a light coat of black gunk sealing it

It is Unobtainium so charge what you want. I wouldnt take a penny less than $200 as you are going to spend a few hours in the heat digging it out.

I am talking about the polished piece along the A-pillar, alongside the windshield, and the piece over the door and quarter glass.

The quarter glass and the strip of molding along the edge are already gone.

I'll have to take a closer look this weekend, I didn't realize they were screwed on!

Appreciate the info Andy and Jerry.

As far as being unobtanium, how so? I see reproduction parts readily available. are the originals that sought after?
