What were the correct steering wheel options for my 69 SS 396 (yes it's an original SSBB) with 400THA /console floor shift? The one on my car is the stainless center/ imitation wood and it is cracked and needs to be sent off for resto. I feel like it is period correct but not sure if it is OE. While it is being redone I would like to put a black comfort grip in its place. Is this correct for this car? Thanks

I wish... mine is a plastic wood grain with the normal age cracks down to the inner steel bar. Does Mr Hinshaw do these also?
If yours is the basic black wheel I am sure he can restore that one also.
I dont think the comfort grip was available for 69.

The comfort grip isn't on any reproduced '69 option lists but years ago here on TC someone said the option became available later in the '69 model year. Don't know if that's true though.
