I'm just lately getting myself edumacated on 69's. So, does anything stand out on this one?

Did they do stats on colors in 69? Did 69's get the GM foil sticker on doors?

How about the trunk divider? Fuzzy side facing in or out?

I'm just a car guy trying to learn.

Oh, and where are all these cars getting point judged at 1000 point venues besides vette fest?

Thx

PS what color is it?

That is one well done 69! It may have a few incorrectly restored areas but the build quality is very striking. I'm impressed. The color is burnished brown or at least it's supposed to be, tough to tell in the pics, kinda looks charcoal grayish. I'm sure with the attention to detail on this car that it's authentic in person. As for the seat divider, I've never seen one on a 69, they have a juke padding blanket but not a cardboard divider, at least that's what I'm used to seeing from original cars. Am I seeing a gardner exhaust?? The interior, especially the dash, is very well done, using original pieces, very nice. I've never seen a gm sticker on the doors but I'm used to fremont cars and an occasional KC car. A couple things I'd fix on this one are the undercoating, way too thin and it should be sprayed equally heavy on the fuel tank, not sure how that's judged though. Other than that, the shifter ball needs to be chrome and the trunk stickers are way too straight and don't have the usual creases. :D A very well done car, I like it! Crazy price and claims but I'm commenting on the car, not the seller.

I'm with you on this one Al.
And Mike,69's didn't use the GM foils on the doors, you missed the non-boxed lowers arms, and all the lack of touch-up on the suspension:confused:

X2

I have NOT seen it, but I don't need to.....there are no L34 69 Chevelles worth that kind of $$, unless they happen to come with a few gold bars in the trunk.

I do love the color combo, though

No stats on colors AFAIK, and I also vote for no foil GM sticker on the doors....that was a 67 item, and possibly some 68's. My 69 convert has the cardboard trunk divider but no insulation. I think the insulation was possibly a Buick or Olds A-body item that, over the years, has incorrectly become accepted as 'fact' for all A-bodies. I suppose it's also possible that it was used on the Concours model 68 and 69 Chevelles, as they did have extra interior insulation.

My guess is, the owner is fishing. Obviously he can't be thinking he's gonna find someone to buy a 69 Chevelle, with an oval port motor, for that kind of cash. I'd fix all the little things wrong with it, like all the bolts that are wrong, the chrome on the seats, and the biggest thing, the plugged exhaust manifolds. The whole smog system is missing. He's 90% there. It's a real nice car/love the colors. Finish it right, and cut the asking price in half, and I bet it would sell.

What both Bill's said :D
Also just way too many details left out on the car.

Shifter ball
Smog missing
no detail tags
no daubs
foil sticker
wrong master cylinder cover
wrong radiator hoses
Battery caution tag
dip stick
heater hoses
alternator fan blade
gas tank straps

Beautiful car. But with an outragous price like that. I think its going to be hard for him to find anyone that will take him seriously and will just move on to the next ad. Even at half price, still going to be tough to sell an L34 car for mid 60s even.

I agree. Probably thinking the higher the asking price, the higher any lowball offers would be. I'm thinking around $45k-$48k would be about right.
