What are the best options for upgrading the suspension on a 69 SS Convertible while trying to maintain mostly stock appearance? I am building 550 HP 468 and will want to avoid the nasty wheel hop issues and also tighten everything up. I am looking for a few changes that I could make now and then continue to build on in the future. thx

wheel hop problems stem from the rear jacked up and/or loose bushings. Don't jack the rear and install new bushings front and rear of upper and lower arms and you'll have it 99% beat upfront.

Or you can try the throwing money at fancy parts approach. If the rear is jacked shiny parts might not help much.

What Tom said...............

Also, your question is kind of vague. Whats your reasoning for wanting to upgrade the suspension? Is it just so you can do smokey burn outs?

Rear end will not be jacked - lowered an inch if anything... Genius that did the original build tried to jam 275 70 15 tires under the rear and when they couldn't get them to fit put spacers in the springs... They are coming out... I mainly want to avoid the wheel hop everyone keeps telling me is coming and also to tighten up the feel of the car a bit at speed. Thx in advance for any advice.

Thx everyone! Paint and re-assmbly should finish in the next few weeks with motor to be swapped out immediately after. I will report back as to the wheel hop or hopefully not wheel hop soon after!
