Ok, I promise this is going to be my last post for a while. I found this and talked to the seller, very nice guy. He told me he has put over $20k into the car, no issues at all, completely redone, etc. Seeing what you guys thought. If you think its good enough to consider, I am flying up there next week to check it out (tickets are cheap :))

Seller agreed on one time price of $17,500

Any help would be appreciated. I want to buy a ticket tonight while the prices are low. Just let me know. Thanks!

I think your in an awfull hurry, that's all the money for that car IMO. Just for comparison I bought this car 3 months ago on E-bay. It's a 70 clone with most of the SS items done, C.I., new tires and rims, new exhaust, new interior, new bumpers, tach and guage package, buckets, console, solid Texas car, for 13,700. I think I got a great deal on it, but it just goes to show that they are out there. P.S. my friend in Maine just let a Canadian 70 SS, red/black ,auto, with docs go for 19,500. There are deals out there you just need to be patient.

Have you looked at www.carsonline.com ?Might find something closer and a better deal. The market is pretty soft right now,a buyers delight. The one your looking at is ok,but I don't think it's a great deal, depends what you're looking for.

Take your time, it's July already and for a lot of the northern states the car season is very short. With the economy the way it is, I would think you'll see a lot of nice cars for cheaper than usual money coming on line as people need the cash with winter around the corner. Keep saving, cash in fist is king when the right deal comes along. I'd never buy that 69, you can do much better.

His ad say's price is firm and has already turned down 17500. offer so why has he agreed to it with you? Was this a stick that was converted to automatic?
He'd probably take 15K if you were standing there in front of him with cash. If he didn't, he might be waiting a while.

So for $17,500 the car is not worth it but if I can get him down more then it might be?

I am checking the site that Doug gave me. Only thing so far is this one: http://www.cars-on-line.com/36677.html

Buyer said everything is done and would take $16,500. I dont know...

Jay One of the things that bothers me is you are focusing on price not quality. In the price range you have come down to there are lots of really crappy cars with clever disquises. It might be better to to buy a car that was $25K a year ago for $20k than a car in the mid teens that offers so much uncertainty. I feel the greatest risk is the $10-15K range. It just cost too much to build a nice car.

John, I understand what you mean. I definitely want something quality. Alot of people on this site are saying that you can get quallity for that price range.

Take a look at Doug's post earlier, seems he got a good car for $13,900

So you are saying I should be looking for something like this, where the guy continues to lower his price, maybe even go lower than advertised?
