Hey all, hope everyone is staying safe out there. Quick question, my 69 started to lean to the driver's side when I brake. I feel the pull from the front. I have disc brakes up front. Gets extra violent at higher speeds. I replaced the front shocks and it helped a bit but it still pulls. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Check your brake and steering/suspension component parts for leakage and/or wear. There are many things that will cause a car to pull to one side or another when braking.

Remove the calipers and pull out the steel barrels that ride in the rubber. Clean them up and put disc brake lube on them and make sure they slide in and out of the caliper. I have had to remove some of the steel and make the spacer smaller in diameter so the caliper can open when the brake pedal is released. The wheel should spin very freely with the front end jacked up and off the ground..

This might start a giant debate, but do you have silicone brake fluid in there? When I used that, the calipers leaked on my vette and it always pulled to one side real hard during hard breaking. It was to a point of being very unsafe because I had a wrestling match with the steering wheel during hard breaking, while I tried to keep the car straight. As soon as I flushed the system out to clear out the silicone break fluid, and replaced it with good ole DOT 3 brake fluid, the problem was gone and never returned. I would've never believed it if I didn't try it.
