Doesnt really matter, I guess. I was thinking aftermarket only because I thought it might be a little cheaper. I need new door panels and I wanted to convert the windows from manual before I got the panels because I dont want to cut holes for the window cranks in new panels. I wanted to mount the switches in the console.

There's a bunch of places that sell aftermarket kits, I believe.

Check out a1electric.com - they should have something that bolts right in.

If not, try true-connections.com - they have them for my '65, so definitely should have them for a 68.

Hope this helps! I'll keep an eye out for a 68 kit when I'm looking around for my stuff!

Do you know how much space is below the glass when you roll the window all the way down? I found an aftermarket kit where you only have to have 9 1/2" of clearance between the bottom of the door, and the bottom of the glass. If you have that, you're all set!
