TOTALS for 1969 (for those people who don't know how many there were).
RPO L78 V-8 ENGINE-396"-SPC'L HI-PERF 9,486
RPO L89 ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEADS 400
**NOTE the 400 L89's were NOT another 400 cars, in ADDITION too the 9,486 L78's. Instead, you had to order a L78, & then ADD the L89 option ON TOP of the L78 RPO. So there was 9,486 L78 cars, with 400 of THOSE having the RPO L89 RPO ALSO.
Dave, is right about there being more L78 cars in '69, than the LS5 & LS6 for '70 (combined).

Hi 260,, I tend to disagree with Mr Birdwell,, I believe a nice 69 L78 car will fetch more in the 20 grand range,,sure its not one of the widely famed (and often cloned) LS6 cars but the right one of those cars are in the $40s,, I just sold an L34 4spd 69 2 year old restoration for $17,500 so do I think a true L78 car in good condition is worth 15K Yup I do,, long as its not just a shell needin a complete restoration,, I believe a good show or drive L78 4spd car is worth that,, U can view the Dusk Blue that I sold for $17,500 at www.members.home.net/northern/bowties and form your own opinion my friend after all thats all that this is,, Good Luck L89SEDAN
