My rear tranny seal is leaking so I have to remove my driveshaft. Since I'm pulling it anyway, time for a little detailing.

Another member told me the yokes are cast and the shaft is polished steel.

My queston is, what markings are factory correct in 69?

Stripes? Part number stencil?

Check out box 19 on your buildsheet.Labeled:prop.shaft.It will tell you the color your driveshaft should be from the factory.Example:pK-OR is for Pink & Orange.Different drivetrain combinations produced a variety of colors.

Well John, just two weeks ago I had the same rear tranny leak. Pulled the driveshaft and put in a new seal then realized it was the tranny yoke, not the seal. The yoke was all worn and thus wasn't sealing against the seal.

While it was out I gave the driveshaft and the new yoke a nice coat of detail gray. Unfortunately I can't help you with the stripes as I wasn't worried about them myself.

Good luck.
