Saw a post on the 72 Chevelle dash pad removal - been there/done that. Need to know how to remove and replace a '69 Malibu dash pad. Does not look as as easy as on the 70-72 Chevelles. Any tips before I get started? Looks like you have to get up behind the dash to remove a couple of screws. Any clips like the 70-72s? Doesn't seem like it since the dash pad doesn't extend to the windshield...
I don't know about a 70-72 yet but i removed the one in my 68 (with a busted collar bone) and I removed the entire instrument cluster because there are about 4 or 5 self threading screws on the bottom of the pad if I remember correctly. I don't know if it is nessasary to remove the cluster but i'm converting to tach and guages so it had to be done anyways. You may have to pull the glove box down a bit to get at one of the self threaders but you don't have to remove the box. The rest of the the removal is just a few screws along the tod of the dash that are easily accessable. Good luck!
