I purchased a car I thought I really wanted. At my age I am little afraid of driving it. I know what I paid for it, but may have been taken. I need to know the worth so I can ask a reasonable price. It is matching numbers.396ci L78. 375 HP. T0930KF. Upgraded to winter snowflake heads. Factory chambered exhaust. Trans tag cX69 High Pro Turbo 400. 12bolt posi traction axle with 3.31 gears. F41 heavy duty suspension. Original Lemans blue paint. Does have minor scratch rear passenger wheel well. Original blue color bucket seats. Goodyear F70x14 poly glass tires. Have two one inch notebooks that show restoration; as well, as photos showing matching numbers. I may have gotten some info listed above out of order, as I don’t know much about cars. Hope someone can help. Thank you

Couple questions. How did you determine it is a real SS, real numbers matching car? What did you pay for it? How long ago did you buy it? Did you buy from a private party or otherwise? How about a good clear pic of trim tag and engine stamp. One drawback is the automatic on the column. That is least desirable set up.
If all the claims are true then you are $50K-$60K.

Very Nice Chevelle! Seems I've read some where some people preferred a column shift for auto performance cars, No idea on value though

blm makes some great points and questions and I agree with him.

Depending on the buyer, you may find that the column shift with bucket seats is somewhat a rarity which may help or hurt the value.

The 375 HP definitely increases the value somewhat but that may be diminished by head work that has been done.

Determining if the body and engine numbers match is a big deal for most collectors as this does not seem to be what would be considered as a daily driver.

Love the car and the color as the color is the same as my EC.

Numbers matching car I would think should bring $50 to $60k or maybe more depending on the buyer and how much in love they would get with the car.

Nice looking car. I feel like I’ve seen that Car at the Goodguys show in Dallas. I’m in the Abilene area so maybe I’ve seen it around there.

I agree with everything you and BLM point out. I do have pictures of matching numbers. As a kid I did love center console and not so much the column but at my age now, I don’t mind column. The car is really a beauty and the handful of times I have taken it out people honk, follow me to talk about car, get excited to see it. I appreciate the price input. I will lose some money on the deal, but that is life. Thank you all for your time!

With my estimate of value would be what you could expect to get in a private party sale. I would expect the price to be considerably higher at a classic car dealer or maybe one of the big auctions. Maybe the auction route is something to consider. A classic car dealer is a
Waste in my opinion because the cars are overpriced and sometimes not what they are stated to be. In addition the classic car dealer knows nothing of the cars history. I would never recommend a dealer.

How bout some more information instead of just saying thank you? I see a nicely restored car in your photos but i see no actual proof of it being a real deal car. Buckets with a chicken stick column shifter also casts a little doubt on it being real even though it could have been ordered that way. Now lets see some stamps cowl tag & protecto plate. Thank you

I've studied some valuation on '69 L78s, since I'm currently selling one and the consensus is a 60% add for the L78 option. That's with all associated hardware that this option was delivered with, which is extensive. So the math is intense, since a seller has to predict the market on every small part and actually know what the car is missing. It takes more than a simple car guy to think this through. Start with a concourse car evaluation and work your way down....that's the high end standpoint. The low end, if you are missing more pieces of the puzzle than the you have, is to start with a malibu and add value to any pieces the car has. Every car is unique, so an evaluation is specific to your car and virtually nobody has the tools to evaluate it from a few photos.
NADA has a concours L78 car valued at $101,000.

Nice car! Pay no mind to the people demanding that you verify authenticity, you don't owe that to anyone but a buyer. I don't have an idea on value, I don't play in that sandbox. One minor point, you mention "original paint" but the documentation asserts "full rotisserie restoration" so it's definitely not original paint. It may be the original color, but not the original paint.

I bought it from a high end dealer, and they were very disappointing in ways I don’t want to mention. Maybe an auction is the way to go. Thank you so much!
