Was wanting the correct black that goes between the upper and lower moldings below trunk. The car is butternut yellow an its black between these moldings.Matte?Satin?????

I'm not sure black is correct for a non-SS. I thought it was supposed to be argent (silver) on a Malibu.

You're right. Argent Silver on Malibu, semi-gloss or satin black on all SS396 optioned cars. 300 Deluxes without SS option didn't have moldings there and were main body color.

Neither I nor my painter knew this prior to painting my Malibu back in 1999. He painted the area between the moldings the same as the body, i.e. Champagne Gold. I think it looks OK, but I might have went with the argent if I had it to do over again.

The sunlight kind of screws this photo up, but you can see that my rear filler panel is gold, and it should be silver, to match the rockers.

Youre right on the silver but i did not put the silver on the bottom,it did come with it but i think it just doesnt look right on it. I think im gonna go with the low gloss black.

You're right, the silver would not look good without the same treatment on the rockers. Black or body color would look cool.
