hi i am new to the site but have had old cars forever,i still believe in using them for daily transportation,so with this in mind my latest is a 69 chevelle i picked up last winter, car as most have been messed with in the wrong, wiring cut etc, the car after 3 days the batt is dead, since i was doing the interior i replaced the dash harness that was hacked up.,while driving it a few weeks ago it got some dirt in the carb, the guy had no air cleaner or filter,so rebuilt the carb and installed the filter, went to start and starter died,i replaced it and the batt will still die,i bought a new alt with the internal regulator and in the process of changing the wiring anyone know the correct way,i read a bunch of different ways,i bought the harness at the alt not to cut the wires there, i also heard light switchs or dash switch can cause a drain,i bought a power probe 3 so i can test it,i also noticed the guy has the big cowl hood and removed the wiper motor,i put one on and ya it wont work etheir,it got hot when powered up,and even the wires there were melted so i replaced the wire plugs from a extra harness i had. i need wipers if i going to drive it daily, rainx wont work forever. any ideas,i got allot more questions and more cars than time or money. thanks
