Here's a picture of my 69 Chevelle 325hp L35 engine w/AC. (56,000+ original miles).
I'm sure a belt or hose has been replaced over the years, but the engine has never been pulled and all mostly as it was.
I am not sure how different it is from what you're trying to achieve, but hope it helps a little.

I do a lot of old Chevelles A/C units. If you are going to have A/C in your solid lifter chevelle,,,, Also ,,,If you will be using the Org. type A-6 A/C compressor. I would build and install a scatter shield over the " A-6 Compressor ".
You are gonna need it !

HaHaHa.....the real funny thing about that^ guy is that with all the hot chicks he used to show short clips of on his TV show, it's kind of ironic that in real life, he was actually gay himself. I say "was" because I assume that he's dead by now.

They did make AC compressors with a larger diameter pulley to slow them down a bit

in 1972,one could order an LT-1 Corvette with a/c
I would check into that compressor/pulley
