I have a nice am radio for my '68, and see the back has 3 spades, GRD SPK and 12V. I also have the connector, which has a paired black and green wire. What goes where? Does 12V go to switched 12v at the fuse block? Are the other two for the speaker? If so, does the radio self ground thru the bracket to dash connection? Thanks!

Radio and speaker both ground to chassis. The green wire pair should be for the speaker. The radio power comes from 12v switched from fuse panel.

So metal to metal is all the ground thats needed for the speaker and radio chassis?

Yep, the General was saving wire.

Yep - what Alan said... that's a single ended transformer coupled class A transistor amplifier in all those 60's GM AM radios.
