This valve is on a 68 SS 396/325 HP El Camino with power drum brakes that my brother-in-law purchased to restore. We have not been able to figure out what this valve does or why it is there. We are not sure if it is original and we could not find any visual or written reference to it in any of the assembly or maintenance manuals. It is on the line for the front brakes. It does not appear to be a type of proportioning valve because there is pressure button. The nipple is a bleeder valve. Does anyone know what this valve is and its purpose? Is it aftermarket or something that GM added for some reason? Thanks in advance for any help coming our way!
