What cars have the same bolt pattern for the dash bezel as the '68? Will the '69 bolt in? What other GM's will bolt in?

The 69 may physically fit but you will have to change gauge assembly to the 69 also. Then you will have no ignition as the 69 was on the column, 68 was obviuosly in the dash.69 dashes are really no easier to find than 68's. I assume you are looking for a nice dash for your 68. Just keep looking. You'll find the right one.

Oops, I guess I should have explained.

I'm not looking for a replacement. I'm about to fabricate an aluminum one and was thinking of making a couple of them to see if anyone might be interested in buying such beasts.

This won't be as simple as the wood dash I have now. The instruments will be recessed for better viewing. It's gonna be a much better looking panel. The main portion will probably be painted black or covered in black vinyl and the gauge panel will remain aluminum.

I'll post pics when I'm finished with my first one. I hope it turns out good.

I'm probably gonna install a DIN receiver in mine eventually as well when I get a chance.

I have a nice sheet of aluminum and I'm planning a dash bezel and A/C condenser block-off that will retain the original heater blower.

If it looks good and people like it I'm thinking about turning these things out to help pay for my El Camino addiction.

Of course I'll make it custom to fit whatever one might need. I might need the original heater control to get it to mount properly.
