it could have been equipped with a 12-bolt rear
it could have either a 307 or 327
what engine/trans does the car have now?
what does the trim tag under the hood have for numbers?
the codes on the engine/trans/rearend could tell if they belong on your car.
what does the VIN# look like?
i had a 307+PG convertible that i restored after it sat for a long time due to an engine fire the previous owners had..... :(

I believe the first 8 in the vin says it is a v8 car.....numbers on the cowl tag will tell color or exterior, interior and top....

the 1 is for the Chevrolet
the 36 on the vin# say it was a V8 malibu
the 67 is for the convertible body style
the 8 is for 1968 model year
the B is for Baltimore
the VIN# sequence for 1968 started with 100001
the trim tag under the hood will tell the paint/interior/roof
the codes on the rearend tubes can tell if it is a 1968 axle or other year and what gear was installed.

take pictures of stuff as you take it apart for reassembly later
