i bought car 3 weeks ago and i am going thru it and redoing some things like wiring, got to my starter and i see previous owner had rigged some one wire push button starter set up, i removed all of that and got underneathe to see a wire was attached to solinoid connector and that was starting the car,so i bought a new hei eng harness and i see my new harness has to connect to the front of starter as seen in pic terminals will only fit that area, now i am assuming that is where the purple and yellow would connect see wires in photo, will the connector close to eng be for purple wire? the top purple wire is the way he had it starting .the bottom wiring is the new wiring purple and yellow. thanks

the car is a hei distributor, i will not connect it to nothing, where is the s terminal on the mini starter? thanks
The one that originally had the purple wire hooked to it on the solenoid. It should be marked with an "S" The same one that the starter button was hooked to.

Shove your phone up from the front and you should be able to get a picture of it to see the terminals and markings.

Not quite sure you understood Dean's post. Your HEI will receive power directly from the IGNITION "on" wire whether from a key switch or a toggle switch. Therefore you do not need to connect the yellow wire from your new harness to anything since it is only used as a bypass circuit to power the coil during starter engagement for a points style distributor which you do not have.

The purple wire in your new harness will replace the pinkish / red wire in your pic, assuming the purple wire is fed from the push button start switch.
