Hello,

I have a new set of unassembled door panels that came with the car when I bought it. I took them to a local interior guy and upon looking at the old door panels (which I saved for the metal pieces), noticed the chrome strip was glued down to the panel. Is that normal? Or was the old one done incorrectly? I have looked in online catalogs to see if new chrome strips come with some type of pin or something to hold it in place...no luck.

Just wondering...glue? Or no glue?

Thanks!

Hi YeahDoggie
The stainless strip on my 68 front and rear door panels were glued/stuck on, I remember cutting them out of the old panels to prevent bending them and then cleaning off on a bench. The strips on the arm rests were studded so easy to remove. I had a look through some of the interior catalogues (NPD) I have and even some of the pre-assembled panels need a strip to be fitted.
Good luck !
