Just got new quarters put on from shop..Now doors stick out three quarters of an inch or so WITH door seal installed..Sit flush with seal off..Door striker is moved completely to interior side..Can I grind a little off the striker hole to make up the distance? This a common problem? Dynocorn quarters BTW

Not sure this is applicable, but I'll give it a shot.

Setting the striker distance can be counter intuitive. It happens that the lockset has two positions; the initial contact latching and the totally closed latching position. If you move the striker post toward the interior thinking that will make is close correctly (all the way), you end up with the totally closed door position being held by the initial contact latch position. That will prevent the door from finishing the proper close.

Try moving the latch outward a half inch and tinker with the idea that you need two latching positions.

Been there done that.... Nick
