Folks, my driver side vent window has no
"tension " on it. Once you unlock it , the
window will just "FLOP" around. !! The seal
on the window is fine. Any hints on how to
fix this ..PLs advise thxs Charlie
There is a spring with a nut on it to tension the vent window. You will have to pull the door panel and roll up the window to get your hand in there. The pivot on the bottom of the vent window is the place you are trying to get your hand on. It's a 7/16 or 1/2" nut your looking for. I have never tried to tighten this all assembled but you will need to put a socket on that nut and tighten it till you get the resistance you want. There is some kind of locking devise that prevent it from backing off but I can't remember what it's all about. Good luck
the locking divise is a washer with a little
extra on one side bent over the nut.....
put a flat head between the nut and bent part of the washer... separate. Tighten the nut then bend back the washer.
